The true devotee: Story of Sandeepak

Story of Sandeepak: In ancient time, there were Rishi Vedadharma disciples used to study Veda-Shastra in Vedadharma Rishi’s ashram on the banks of river Godavari.

One day the Guru thought to test his disciples’ devotion.

How disciples should be: Story of Sandeepak

Disciples have such unwavering reverence for the Guru that gurus sometimes have to use the power of yoga to measure that faith.

Vedadharma Muni said to the disciples: “O disciples! Now unluckily I will get leprosy, I will go blind so I will stay in Kashi.

Is there any one, who is ready to live and serve to me? “

What is dandawatam pranam?

Disciples used to say: my lord! Our life can be sacrificed at your feet. But everyone was silent.

Among them, a disciple named Sandeepak was very much Guru devoted, He said: “Gurudev! This slave will be at your service every time at any cost.”

Guru said: “You will have to serve for twenty-one years.” Are you ready?

Sandeepak replied: “The meaning of this life is only for guru serve. Not only twenty one year but my whole life is devoted on you.”

Vedadharma Muni and Sandeepak started living a little away from Manikarnika bank in Kashi.

A few days later, Guru’s entire body got leprosy and blindness. The body became ugly and temperamental as well. Sandeepak began to work in the service of Guru ji day and night. He did not get angry even in his mind.

He wore a torned cloths, begged alms and brings food and cooked for Guruji. He washed, cleansed, cleansed the leprosy wounds, showered the guru, washed clothes though Guruji used to abuse, scold, slap, beat with sticks and take various types of exams.

But Sandeepak’s readiness in Guru’s service and devotion towards Guru became more and more profound and deepened.

The presiding deity of Kashi Lord Vishwanath (Shree Shiv Ji) appeared before Sandeepak and said: “We are happy to see your guru service.

The one who serves the guru serves me. The one who satisfies the guru satisfies me.

Son! Ask for some boon. “Sandeepak went to take orders from the Guru and said: “Shree Shiv ji wants to give a boon, if you give orders, then I can ask for a boon that your destiny of disease and blindness will be healed.”

Guru scolded: “You ask for a boon so that I can be healthy and you want to get rid from serving me!”

Hey idiot! We have to suffer our karma, one day again I have to suffer again. “

Sandeepak refused to get boon from Shiva ji. Shiva ji was surprised as to see loyalty of Sandeepak. Shiv ji went to Vishnu lok and told the whole story to Shree Vishnu ji. Vishnu ji is also satisfied and appears to give a boon to Sandeepak.

Sandeepak said: “Lord! I do not want anything.

“When God requested, he said:” May you give me this boon that I have a firm faith towards Guru ji. There will be constant love in the service of Gurudev, and devotion will strengthened day by day in feet of guru.

“Lord Vishnu embraced Sandeepak.

Sandeepak went and saw Vedadharma Muni sitting healthy. Neither leprosy nor blindness!

Guru distinguished Sandeepak from his elemental vision. He said: “You are blessed for the loyalty and service.

Sandeepak awakened to the elemental guru with the satisfaction of the Guru, he became a Guru form.
