Sant Ravidas Ji were born in the Chamar (Lower cast) community in Kashi Nagar. Ravi Das were contemporaries of Kabir Sahib. The supreme devotee Ravi Das used to work as Blacksmith. He used to do devotion to Kabir Sahib also. Supreme God Kabir Sahib had explained the true path of devotion to the Swami Ramanand Ji of Kashi.
Showing the eternal palace of human soul Satlok, Kabir Sahib left him back to this earth. Before that, Swami Ramanand Ji used to make disciples of only Brahmins. After that Swami Ramanand Ji started making disciples of other castes as well. Saint Ravidas Ji also took initiation from Acharya Ramanand Ji. Supreme God Kabir Sahib had told Swami Ramanand ji the first mantra and the same name was given by Swami ji in initiation to Ravi Das.
Saint Ravi Das used to chant the same first mantra. One day Saint Ravi Das found a Brahmin on the way requesting him to go for a bath in the Ganges.
Saint Ravi Das ji said that ‘if the mind heals, Ganga is in the bowl’, I am not going. Brahim replied, you seem to have become an atheist. What have you started living with that Kabir ji, you have renounced religion? If you want to donate something, give it to me. I will give it to Goddess Ganga.
Ravi Das Ji took a penny out of his pocket and gave it to the Brahmin and said to give this penny to Ganga ji. Keep attention to one thing, if Ganga takes a penny in her hand, give it otherwise bring it back. When Brahmin ji stood on the Ganges River and requested Ganga, she took out her hand near the shore and took a penny and with the other hand reverted back with a golden bracelet to Brahmin which was very beautiful and precious. Ganga said to give that bracelet to the supreme devotee Ravi Das ji.
That Brahmin went on greediness after receiving the precious bracelets. The evil thought came and decided to give that bracelet to queen. Instead she will reflect with more properties. He went to palace and gave to the queen. The queen said her king that she needs pair of bracelets. Though bracelets were beautiful, queen desire scaled.
The king now threatened the Brahmin to come with pair of bracelets unless he including his whole family would be assassinated.
The greedy Brahmin came into a problem. He doesn’t have any way to escape. Hence he went to Saint Ravi Das and explained all the events and apologized for his evil deeds.
After addressing the words, Saint Ravi Das said Brahmin to put his hands in a leather pot. He also said to request to Ganga and grant next pair of bracelet. Ganga appeared with 4 pieces. Saint Ravi Das ordered to take only one bracelet and leave rest. If not he would suffer more consequences.
That Brahmin gave the next pair of bracelet to the queen and explained all the events. He also gave the address of Saint Ravi Das.
The queen came in thought to get more and more ornaments and precious metals. She thought that Saint Ravi Das would be a goldsmith.
The queen was suffering with serious health issues and was also possessed with the ancestors. She was haunted with the evil spirit as well. She visited to every saint and had performed all the practices but none can heal her suffering. She had serious miseries in life though she was queen.
She went to visit Saint Ravi Das. When she came in front to Ravi Das Ji, all the miseries of health and possession were vanished. She was so happy that she knelt down bowed and touched the feet of Saint Ravi Das.
Saint Ravi Das Ji said all the physical assets are the result of past account but if you will not do true bhakti in current life; it will create more miseries in next life.
The queen said, I have made a Brahmin guru. Ravi Das Ji said that there is no benefit even from fake Guru. You had made a guru and the sufferings are constant. What benefits from such a guru? The queen requested to accept her as disciple. Ravidas Ji gave the first mantra to the queen. The queen said that Master! I will donate food to poor people in your name on Full Moon this time. She requested to come to the palace on the Full Moon.
On the Full Moon, Saint Ravi das Ji reached to the palace.
Seven hundred Brahmins were invited earlier. Queen kept her Guru Ravi Das ji in a good posture. Seven hundred Brahmins were requested to sit in line for food with him. The Brahmins were seated in several rows. Food was placed in front of all.
At the same time the Brahmins saw that Ravi Das ji were sitting together with them. Everyone stood in their place and said that we will not have food. This untouchable Ravi Das who is sitting, remove him. The queen said that he is my Guru, he will not go away. Saint Ravi Das Ji told the queen that daughter! You obey me I will sit far away. Ravi Das got up and sat behind the Brahmins where they had put their shoes.
Now those Brahmins sat down to have food. At the same time, seven hundred forms of Ravi Das Ji were formed and each Brahmin was seen eating food on a plate with Ravi Das. One Brahmin tells the other that a lower caste untouchable Ravi Das is eating with you, leave this food. The one in front says that he is eating food with you too. Thus Ravi Das Ji appeared to eat food with everyone.
Ravi Das ji sat away and said that hey Brahmins! Why do you discredit me, look! I am sitting here.
The king, queen, others were present and all the dignitaries were watching that miracle. Then Ravi Das Ji said that Brahmin is by karma and not by caste. He showed a golden thread inside his body and said that I am indeed a Brahmin. I am a Brahmin by birth. Then satsang was narrated for some time. At that time, seven hundred Brahmins broke their fake Janeu (the thread of raw thread which is tied around the neck and on the other shoulder from under the cock) and became disciple of Saint Ravi Das ji finally. All were exposed and true bhakti was initiated.
All the 700 Brahmins initiated true bhakti and attained salvation.
How to attain salvation?
In this prime time Saint Rampla Ji Maharaj is only one true complete guru who can explore the true paths for salvation. Rest the norms and values are useless and never provide benefits. Human life is very rare; one shouldn’t spoil for gathering the dolls like vehicles and other assets.
Contributing this life for making prosperous is a kind of illusion enforced by Jyoti Niranjan Kaal with his three son (Rajogun brahma, SatoGun Vishnu and TammoGun Shiv) including his better half Aadi Maya Astangi (Durga/Prakriti/Maya).
